For those who have stepped foot into any athletic arena of competition, the parallels to Sales and Management are clear. From the offseason to the championship, each aspect of athletic competition reflects a very similar build-up and approach to winning in a business setting. 

 

Many secrets to success lie within the parallels between these two worlds, and that's how we approach it.

 

On the macro level - sales quota attainment across every industry is lagging and many management teams are losing. The real problem is that organizations oftentimes don't know why and blame talent.

 

Can it really ALL be chalked up to a talent issue? Or, could it be the ripple effects of less-than-optimal training solutions implemented by companies that were sold the promise of a championship team and received a solution far from what it takes to create one?

 

Contrary to flashy "influencer experts," we know that winning is something to be taught. Winning is not just the result of "following a process." If so, every team with a standard operating procedure for Sales or Management would be winning. Winning is not easy and without properly learning how, achieving victory is rarely experienced. 

 

The world of sports teaches us a lot about this. Teams across all sports in history have developed a blueprint for success and it's been repeated in each sport leading to dynasties. From John Wooden's UCLA dynasty to Nick Saban's incredible run with Alabama Football, these teams have defined winning and found a way to make it repeatable.
